| Citroën seems to be serious about
re-entering
the upper range car segment with the C6 which is expected to be launched
in 2003.
With the C6 and the upcoming C3 and Pluriel (in 2002), Citroen is most certainly leaving the "Calvet era" in which it got a reputation for good and solid but not very exiciting (not "real Citroëns") cars like the Saxo and Xsara.

| Based on the same platform (which is variable regarding wheel base and track) as the C5, the 407 and the 607 sucessor, the C6 will be a big and expensive luxury car. The C6 will have a Hydractive III based suspension equipped with a anti-roll system like the Xantia Activa (and the Mercedes ABC system). | ![]() |
| The dashboard looks
revolutionary : It consist of a lighted band on which all
relevant information will be displayed on 5 digital computer screens ("virtual instruments").
The outer right and lift displays are for the climate controls. The display immediately behind the steering, which almost looks like a one-spoke steering wheel, is for the traditonal instrumentation (speed, petrol gauge etc.) . The middle display is for the GPS navigation system and the remaining display for the audio/video system and maybe even for a video rear view mirror. |
